Download before you go

Once you're on wifi at home or any connection, open the app and save the route or region. Maps, trails, and waypoints are cached on your phone.

Head out without a network

In the mountains, valleys, or caves, the app keeps showing your position because GPS works with satellites — it doesn't need a cell antenna or wifi.

Navigate like always

Route trace on screen, remaining distance, ETA, off-route alerts and arrival at waypoints. All in real-time from your GPS position. Reload when you get signal again.

Antes de cargar el vehículo, abrís la app con wifi en casa y descargás la región donde vas a salir. La app guarda los tiles del mapa, los waypoints de la comunidad y tu ruta planeada.

Una vez en el monte, todo eso funciona idéntico sin red. Cuando volvés a tener conexión, la app sincroniza tu track grabado, las nuevas fotos y los waypoints que marcaste.

What riders ask before heading out to the trails.

Does it work without a SIM card or data plan?

Yes. Your device's GPS communicates directly with satellites — it doesn't use the mobile network. As long as your phone has GPS working (all smartphones do), TriakaMap works even if you remove the SIM.

How much battery does offline GPS consume?

The consumption is similar to any navigation app. On a typical 4-5 hour outing, the app + GPS uses ~30-40% of battery. We recommend bringing a power bank for long trips. The app has a low-power mode that reduces refresh and GPS frequency.

What happens if my battery dies in the mountains?

Your last known position is saved locally. When you turn your phone back on and open TriakaMap, it resumes from where it was. Recommendation: combine the app with a phone mount that charges while you ride.

Do I need an external GPS or is the phone's enough?

The internal GPS of any modern smartphone is sufficient for off-road with an accuracy of 3-5 meters. For extreme cases (professional mapping, very dense terrain), we will soon add support for external Bluetooth GPS receivers.

How many regions can I download?

In the Free plan, you can download 1 region with limited size. In Premium, you have unlimited regions, in high resolution, with no size cap. Ideal if you ride in multiple areas or want to have several regions always offline-ready.

If I download a region, does the app keep working offline forever?

Yes. Downloaded regions do not expire. They stay on your phone until you manually delete them. Periodically, the app suggests refreshing the regions to have the most recent waypoints from the community — but that's optional.
