Your .GPX file becomes a navigable route.

You can import any external GPX and the app will draw it with waypoints. Export your recorded routes as universal GPX compatible with any traditional GPS, dedicated device, or other apps in the field.

How it works

Three steps to turn a file into an adventure.

The parser understands GPX 1.0 and 1.1, with tracks, waypoints, and extensions. It won't complicate you with settings, just upload the file and you're good to go.
1

Upload the file

From mobile (file selector) or from the web (drag & drop). The app accepts up to 50 MB per file, enough for long adventures with dense tracking.

2

The app parses

It detects the main track, waypoints, and metadata (name, description, author). If there are custom categories, it tries to map them to the system's categories.

3

Ready to navigate

The route stays in your personal collection as if you had planned it yourself. You can edit it, share it with your group, or navigate it directly.

What it includes

Serious support for the format.

GPX 1.0 y 1.1 compatibles

Up to 50 MB per file

Enough for multi-day adventures with high-density tracking. If your file exceeds the limit, you can simplify it while keeping the shape of the track.

  • Tus datos siempre exportables
  • Compatible con GPS dedicados
  • Sin vendor lock-in
  • Formato legible por humanos (XML estándar)

When to use it

To keep your routes alive and portable.

Migrate collection from a dedicated GPS

You have years of routes saved on a handheld GPS. Export them to GPX, upload them in batch to TriakaMap, and all your historical data stays in the app.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before trying.

What version of GPX does it support?
GPX 1.0 and 1.1, the two official versions of the standard. They cover practically everything that a device or app in the field will generate. Whether your file comes from a GPS that's 20 years old or a modern planner, you can import it just the same.
Does it include custom waypoints?
Yes. We import waypoints with their name, description, icon (when it's standard), and exact position. If the GPX uses proprietary categories, we try to map them to TriakaMap categories (danger, gas, water, shelter, etc). What we can't map stays as a generic waypoint, with no data loss.
Can it be edited after importing?
Absolutely. Once imported, the file becomes a normal route in your collection. You can move nodes, add waypoints, change the category of each one, delete segments, split the route into parts. You edit it as if you had planned it yourself.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes: 50 MB per file. It's a generous limit — enough for multi-day adventures with high-density tracking. If your file exceeds that size, it's usually because the GPS saved a point every second for days; the app offers to simplify the track while preserving the shape without losing key waypoints.
What about KML files?
We don't import them directly for now. If you have KML, the most practical thing is to convert it to GPX with any standard online converter (there are several free ones) and upload the resulting GPX. We're considering adding native KML support in a future version if demand justifies it.
